Our goal ...
To introduce people of all ages to the joy & countless benefits of musical study and appreciation. To give our more advanced or returning students the opportunity to further enhance and strengthen their abilities, while taking their musical studies and performance to the next level.
Why we do it ...
In these troubled times music especially, is necessary to promote good will with each other, while also raising spiritual awareness.
- Musical training dramatically enhances children’s abstract reasoning
skills, which are essential to learning math and science while also
improving reading skills.
- Studying music contributes to a person’s ability to perform, whether
that’s with a musical instrument or a new technology we’ve yet to dream
of, music makes us smarter.
- Most importantly lets face it, not only is learning to play an instrument
rewarding, it’s just plain fun!
Who we are ...
Greg Berger is Be Sharp Music's Program Director / Chief Instructor.
- A graduate of Berkley College of Music in Boston, Mr. Berger not only is an
excellent teacher, but also a highly acclaimed professional musician.
- Some of the many musicians that he has performed with include: Kevin
Eubanks (musical director Jay Leno The Tonight Show band) Gary Lewis, Mary
Wells, The Del-Vikings, Schuyler Deal (bass player with Billy Joel, Michael
Bolton bands), Dean Brown (guitar player with David Sanborn, Bob James, Billy
Cobham, Marcus Miller) Del Shannon, Jose Faliciano, Dave Schwartz (Music
writer and musical director of Northern Exposure), John Miller (Musical
Coordinator Responsible for Hundreds of Broadway Musicals).
- He is credited with over 20 years of music teaching, coaching, and
performing experience.
- Mr. Berger along with his instructors strive to instill in their students
the highest level of musical appreciation, accomplishment, self confidence
and above all a love of playing and singing.
How we do it ...
- For the children, we focus on setting a good solid foundation, with a
strong emphasis on enjoyment coupled with a sense of accomplishment. We like
to inspire the natural creativity within a child while encouraging their self
expression through music.
- Our adult students will also be given the opportunity to master the
instrument of their choice. We realize that practice time can be limited
therefore we know how to get the fastest and most effective results out of
the time you are able to put in.
- All of the Be Sharp instructors have an excellent reputation for inspiring
and motivating children and adults into practicing their instruments and
improving their skills.
- Our friendly, fun, yet professional manner of music instruction constantly
keeps all of our students looking forward to their next music lesson with
bated anticipation.
What we do ...
Mr. Berger has developed a unique tried and true teaching method which
utilizes his college training, years of individual and classroom teaching
experience while including Key instructional highlights from major music
programs such as Alfred's, Bastien, Thompson, Mel Bay, & Yamaha, And Suzuki
methods.
The result is Be Sharp Music, it works!
We offer music instruction in all instruments such as:
- Piano, keyboards, guitar, bass.
- Trumpet, trombone as well as all other brass instruments.
- Woodwinds such as flute, sax, and clarinet.
- Violin, cello, and other string instruments.
- Drums, and percussion.
- Vocal, singing, and voice training.
- Harmonica,(Traditional, and blues harp)
- Music theory, technique, sight reading, composition, and music appreciation.
- Electronic music, synthesizer, sound design.
- keyboard and computer sequencing.
- Digital recording as well as music video editing instruction.
Because we have multi-track digital audio and midi recording studio on
premises, many of our students frequently ask us to record their lessons and
performances onto cd’s which they can take home with them. We encourage all
of our students to participate in our annual recital concerts.
- Be Sharp Music specializes in preparing our students for school
performances, recitals, concerts, auditions, and even music scholarships.
- Music lessons and instruction are given at our studios or at your home.
- Whether your goal is to get out there and gig (don’t quit your day job
right away) or to just play for your own enjoyment, with the ability and confidence to
entertain friends and family, Be Sharp Music can help!
